Mixing it Up

autumn still life

Photo Art Friday has become one of my favorite linkups and although it is not a requirement, I try to use Bonnie's textures in my contributions to the link up. In this composition, I used her dark navy night, acceptance, and one life textures.

This represents the first appearance of the gourds I bought out of guilt at the pumpkin patch the other day.  I knew when I saw them that I wanted to use them in a tri-color piece with simple greens, yellows and whites.  I happen to love white dishes and I had this pitcher that turns out is quite photogenic. A white cake plate elevates a few of the gourds and I positioned the table in front of the mirrored armoire in my home office.  I loved the reflection of pitcher in the mirror, and couldn't resist adding texture so I could use it in this week's PDPA challenge.

The untextured piece with some Radlab processing also appealed to me greatly.  As I learn how to create different recipes in Radlab, I find myself using textures less although I still love them and they totally change the feel of a composition in beautiful ways.  I'm enjoying mixing it up a bit.

  3. Your photos prove that mixing it up is a good thing. Why only stick to one method? I like these two different outcomes.
