Friday Triple Play

Photo Art Fence

I like it when I can combine more than one challenge into a single piece. Fridays are for Fences on Flickr, and they are for Photo Art at Pixel Dust. I also needed a submission for "Shoot Edit and Submit" so I scored a triple play with today's image!

This fence was captured at Cannonsburgh Village and combined with Bonnie's "soft echos" and "fanciful" textures. This week she challenged us to do something a little outside our normal style. I can't say this is a huge departure for me except that one of the textures used was a bit bolder and more abstract than usual.

The piece started out as a multi-layered digital collage as demonstrated by Bonnie on her site, but then I liked the way the single image looked with the textures so I quit while I was ahead. But the challenge has been thrown down and I'm going to try again. Stay tuned.

This will be short and sweet as it has been one heckuva week around here. TGIF! Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend everyone.

Thiry Days Of ThanksToday I am thankful for ...

Getting a call from Afghanistan yesterday and hearing my son's voice for the first time in over a month.

  2. I love the texture added to it. The way you processed it gives it a very artistic quality. I could see this hanging on a wall. Very lovely.

  3. Just love the final effect achieved LeAnne. Looks very 'old world'.

Can only try to imagine what it must be like to have a child in Afghanistan right now. Such courage!

Thank you for sharing your artwork with Photo Art Friday.

  9. This is such an interesting photo to look at - it took me a while, because I was focussing on the fence tops (can't think of correct word for them) to realise there was the house in the background and all the aspects and details about that. Very effective use of texture. How wonderful you were able to talk to your son - i can't imagine what it must be like to have your son away in those circumstances but if i think I can imagine the aboslute thrill and relief in must have been to hear his voice.
