Where did the weekend go? I can't believe it is already Monday. Now that I'm blogging regularly and working more on my photography, the days are full and weekends fuller. These days I have little time to shoot during the week, so I've been trying to make up for it on the weekends.
We had big plans for Saturday which involved a trip back to the area my parents' grew up and a birthday breakfast for my dad (his birthday is actually today). But a surprise chimney leak at their house and the need for my son and I to get back in time for our concert made us realize we had been a bit too ambitious with our plans. So, we moved the birthday breakfast to Sunday at the local Cracker Barrel and I found myself with a few unexpected hours for a photowalk.
I decided to head back down to my neighbor's place with my large telephoto lens and see if the buck would make another appearance. It was extremely foggy, which can be a good thing. But, when I heard a series of shots fired as I made my way down the street I figured my chances of getting a shot at the buck myself were small and I wish I'd worn orange.
There were lots of birds out flying around. The sun looked like the moon breaking through the fog which made for an interesting picture. I have several of these I want to process. Today's image is my contribution to Lisa Gordon's Creative Exchange. I did "cheat" a little on this one as it is two shots, the trees/sun and the birds in flight, combined.
Turns out the weekend resulted in enough pictures to keep me in blog posts for the week. For now, I'll leave you with a shot of the birthday boy and my other two favorite guys . Happy birthday dad! We love you.

My father - for his unwavering love and care, and mostly for showing my boys how to be good men.
