Gather Your Thoughts

Picture the Holidays Day 31 - Gather Your Thoughts

Picture the Holidays Picture The Holidays - Day 31

Wow! What a month! It's been such a pleasure spending it together and focusing on the beauty of the season. Although we are right at the start of the brand new year, recalling and reflecting on the past 30 days can help us begin the next 30 days in the right frame of mind.

What part of the month did you enjoy most? What images did you capture that stirred your soul? I encourage you today to gather up the images of beauty that you collected and print some, hold them in your hand, hang them up, hand them out, spread the joy! And for your last image of Picture the Holidays, take a picture of a picture or pictures. Something special from this past month to remind you that your life is indeed as pretty as a picture!

My take on this prompt is a wee bit different since I don't know if I want to print off the photos I took this month. Some, I really loved, but when I have the book in hand, that will be enough.

However, this Christmas was the first where I gave the gift of my photographs to others. Today's image shows the assorted greeting card collection that I printed from Fine Art America and gave a boxes to family and friends. Everyone seemed to really love them, except for the fact that they weren't sure they would actually send them out. I considered that a high compliment, but I hope they will be used.

I also made a rather large print of my parents' old red barn and had it framed. Again, I used Fine Art America for this and I'm very pleased with the quality of the frame and the image.

In addition, I created a special book for my father with Blurb using images I shot during our visits to his birthplace.

And, as promised, I'm linking up with Ashley Sisk for "Memories Dreams and Reflections" - a retrospective of photos from 2011.

As of this writing, I'm missing one item and descriptions, but I've run out of time for today, so I'll try to get back to it a little later.

  1. My, my, you've been REALLY busy!! What a neat tribute to your dad! And I love the title. I must have missed the raccoon. He is soooo sweet. What a lucky find.

You think much faster than I do. But I've spent a lot of time with my camera and computer this weekend. Got started on One Little Word and Project 366. Best to you in 2012.
