Adrift

ship

I'm coming in just under the wire for this week's Photoart Friday. As expected after our long drive yesterday, I slept in and drifted through my day not really accomplishing much. My older son and I did have some quality time catching up, which was good. Otherwise, the day sort of just got away from me.

Tomorrow, I'd planned to take a zoo trip with my photography group, but it is supposed to be bitter cold (maybe even snow) and the animals aren't expected to be out. So, I think I'll just stay close to home.

After all the excitement of my son's homecoming and the preparations, I suppose its natural to feel a little drained and in need of recharging, so I'm going to give myself permission to remain adrift for a couple of more days at least.

Today's piece is a combination of two shots: one taken from our hotel balcony in Jacksonville, NC and the silouette of a ship I snapped when we visited Topsail Beach. I used Bonnie's "Backlight" texture and processed further with Topaz Labs Simplify and Adjust.

There were apparently some training exercises going on while we were there and I don't know if this ship was a part of it or not. There were actually several ships on the horizon that afternoon.

Now, its off to bed for me. Goodnight all.
